Erard has grown used to the rough stone walls of his prison cell, the crushing darkness leaves him longing to see the executioner blade just to feel the sun upon his back one last time.
Suddenly, a light appears in the darkness, and a young woman asks if he will accompany her on an urgent mission. He agrees to escort the chosen priestess, Annent, into the unknown darkness of the keep. The familiar heft of axe and spear have grown wearisome and he is in search of a noble death.
The keep holds its own secrets, scribed in blood and drawn from centuries of conquest. A cruel king calls to his patron god for untold power in exchange for one last ritual. Annent vows to stop him even though the cost is her own life. If she fails the current world will end and unstoppable evil will rise.
As they learn to trust one another in the face of mounting horrors, they find themselves wishing for tomorrow. No longer willing to die. As the ritual's hour approaches, can they disrupt the evil king's dark plan before it's too late?
